All teams must submit final event materials following the Black Gate submission requirements. All participating teams that meet the Black Gate requirements will have their videos shown throughout the day of the final event.
Eight finalists will be chosen from the participants. Their videos will be shown during the finalist presentation portion of the event, and they will have an opportunity to answer questions from our judges live after their videos are shown. Finalists will be notified before the final event. Finalists are not required to be in person at MIT, and may answer questions virtually.
Down-selection to the finalist pool from among all the teams will depend on the the quality of the document, the video, and how well the project addresses the co-designer's needs.
From our eight finalists, four will be chosen as our category winners for product feasibility, co-designer collaboration, technical innovation, and documentation after the presentations and Q&A. Only one category may be won by any team.
