We have been excited to learn about your co-designers! If you are still searching for someone to work with, ask your peers in Discord if they have any advice. Additionally, you can reference Finding a Co-Designer for more information.
The Preliminary Peer Review is due on February 1st! Please find teams to do peer reviews with! This is an activity that can only be done synchronously and will be extremely difficult to do late. We recommend finding a group of teams that take turns presenting. Remember that when you are listening to another team present, you can't just sit there! Your role as a reviewer is to provide feedback - both live and after the design review.
The Preliminary Design Review is due one week later on February 8th! This is a video recording to be submitted to course staff for feedback. You can use the same presentation as the peer review, or make edits as you see fit.
Technical Mentors are volunteers who generously offer their time to advise student teams as they embark on their projects. We are very grateful to have them and require all teams requesting mentorship to read + acknowledge the following:
Mentors are a valuable and limited resource. They are generously offering their time by volunteering to help student teams. Therefore, if you are matched with a mentor, it is imperative that you adhere to an agreed-upon meeting schedule to be respectful of their time and generosity.
Teams receiving mentorship are expected to meet virtually with their mentors approximately 1-2 times per month and can also communicate with their mentors over email. In your first mentor meeting, you are expected to decide on a meeting schedule with your mentor.
Some mentors will be available to offer guidance ad hoc (i.e. one-off calls with teams they are not paired with). So, if you think your team doesn't need (or have the bandwidth for) regular mentorship, you still have the option to connect with a mentor for a one-off meeting if needed. Staff can facilitate these intros as needed.
If your team would like to receive regular mentorship, indicate that by filling out this form by Feb 1
Timing note: we will begin the mentor matching process the week of Feb 1. If we match you with a mentor, expect to hear back by Feb 13.
If your team is interested in ordering a Challenge t-shirt, you can do so here!
